American LaMancha Breeders Association Youth
Program
The American LaMancha Breeders
Association has a youth/awards
committee and they are working hard to develop
new youth oriented projects and activities as well as a full complement of youth
recognitions for the upcoming year.
Members of the committee include Chair Kassie Dwyer,
LoveMoo11@gmail.com
,
and Members Pam Hogan,
featherbrainedfarm@ccountry.net and Deb Macke
raintree.lamancha@gmail.com
Some of the available projects that the committee has been
working on include a scholarship for deserving
youth members. The American LaMancha Breeders Association Bob Webb & Ray Engemen Memorial Youth Scholarship
will be presented to a
High School Senior.
The committee has incorporated space in the
newsletter geared toward the youth members. It will
include art work, articles, show brags and etc. Any youth is welcome to submit
items to be included. There
is also a new area of the website dedicated to the Youth Program. It will
include scholarship applications, other youth
award information, youth biographies and membership listing as well as a place
for youth artwork and other submitted items.
There is also a YOUTH MEMBERSHIP available. Youth
must be under 21 to be eligible for this membership
option. Cost will be $10.00 per year and will not include voting privileges.
The long range plans for the committee include
recruiting more youth members and developing more
youth programs to keep those members involved and active. The committee hopes to
be able to include more information
in both the newsletter and on the website pertaining to areas of interest to
youth - showmanship tips, basic
goat care, 4-H and FFA program outreach - to name just a few.
Any youth wanting to contribute items to the
newsletter or for the website should contact one of the above
committee members. Any members wanting to join the committee or with ideas to
submit should also contact
a committee member.
More information about many of the above programs and
projects will be available soon.
